Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the Lone Star Receptionist website, demo line, and AI receptionist service. By using them, you agree to these terms.
The service
Lone Star Receptionist provides an AI phone assistant that answers calls for local businesses, collects caller details, books appointments on the business's calendar, transfers urgent calls to the owner's cell (optional, set up during onboarding), and sends call summaries by email. It is an AI, not a person, and it tells callers so.
Calls are recorded
Calls handled by the service, including calls to our demo line, are recorded and transcribed. Callers are told this at the start of the call. Business owners are responsible for following any laws that apply to recording calls and contacting customers in their area.
Business owner responsibilities
- Give accurate information about your services, hours, service area, and how to handle urgent calls.
- Review call summaries and follow up with callers.
- Use caller information only to serve those callers and in line with the law.
Limits of an AI assistant
The assistant can misunderstand callers, miss details, or fail to transfer a call, for example because of phone carrier or provider outages. It does not give technical, safety, or emergency advice. For emergencies such as gas leaks, fire, or injury, callers should hang up and call 911 or their utility. Business owners should not rely on the service as their only way to receive emergency calls.
Pricing and cancellation
The plan is $297 per month. New customers get a free 14-day trial. Automatic renewal: unless you cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged $297 when the trial ends and then every month on that date until you cancel. We email you a reminder before your trial ends.
You can cancel anytime through the billing portal link in your billing emails or by emailing hello@lonestarreceptionist.com. Cancelling during the trial means you are never charged. Cancelling after that takes effect at the end of your current paid month, with no partial refunds. We give at least 30 days' email notice before any price change.
Call minutes
The plan includes 500 call minutes per month. Additional minutes are $0.55 per minute, billed on your next invoice. Riley never hangs up at the limit; we notify you first.
Acceptable use
Don't use the service or demo line for anything illegal, abusive, or misleading, or to try to break or overload it.
Third-party services
The service relies on providers including Retell AI, Cal.com, Google Calendar, Resend, and Cloudflare. Their outages or changes may affect the service.
Disclaimer and limit of liability
The service is provided "as is." To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost jobs, or indirect damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Tarrant County, Texas.
Changes
We may update these terms. For material changes, we'll email customers at least 30 days before they take effect and update the date at the top of this page. If a service agreement with you conflicts with these terms, the agreement controls.
